Twin Tigers To Hit The Road With Interpol
July 6, 2010
Hailing from Athens, Georgia, Twin Tigers have brought their refreshing sound to the indie music scene. The band will be joining Interpol on the road for a month of touring that will begin July 23rd in Massachusetts. Their distinguished indie rock sound blends perfectly with the progressive, atmospheric rock for which Interpol is known, making the combination of bands a must see show.
Dreamy pop tones blended with throbbing noise textures have become Twin Tigers' signature sound. Their debut album,
Gray Waves, was released via Old Flame Records in March 2010. The critically acclaimed album helped thrust the band into the indie spotlight, allowing them to perform with some of the best known bands in their genre including Deerhunter, The Hold Steady, Woods, Les Savy Fav, and A Place to Bury Strangers.
Their debut EP,
Curious Faces / Violet Future, was released in 2008 to critical acclaim, and followed by a digital EP,
Automatic, in late 2009. Following the completion of
Gray Waves, Twin Tigers joined Minus the Bear and The Antlers on tour in the fall of 2009, and performed at the WOXY showcase at SXSW 2010.
The four piece band from Athens, Georgia was formed by Matthew Rain(guitars/vocals) and Aimee Morris (bass) when the two were co-workers at Michael Stipe's
Grit restaurant. Through constant touring with bands including Dead Confederate, Jay Reatard, Black Lips, Dungen, and Snowden, Twin Tigers built a solid fan base throughout the southeast. The band rolled out its current lineup with Forrest Hall (guitars) in 2009.
