The Pretty Reckless New Album Who You Selling For OUT TODAY!

The Pretty Reckless’s extraordinary third studio album Who You Selling For releases today via Razor & Tie. Produced by longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala, Who You Selling For expands the band’s sound to encompass soul, blues and rock and roll. The songs were written by front woman Taylor Momsen and guitarist Ben Phillips. Momsen’s dark lyrics and raw, charismatic vocals are on full display and the band delivers at high intensity with a level of musicianship that raises the bar.

The album’s first single “Take Me Down,” this week once again recaptures the #1 spot on the rock chart, having first topped the chart on August 29.  It has remained top 3 amidst tough competition, surpassing both Green Day and Metallica to reclaim the top slot. This milestone marks the fourth consecutive #1 for the band, who broke records as the first female-fronted band to have three chart toppers in a row with “Heaven Knows,” “Messed Up World” and “Follow Me Down” (all from 2014’s Going To Hell) – a feat that has not been accomplished since The Pretenders in 1984, over 30 years ago. The band is currently the only female-led band on the chart’s top 30 songs. Watch the “Take Me Down” video below.

The New York Times recently wrote, “The Pretty Reckless have steadily established itself as one of the most consistently enjoyable rock bands in the country. As rock by and large collapses, how does this group, with its faithful revisiting of louche1980s power rock, continue to thrive? Find out on its third full-length album, Who You Selling For.”

Kerrang! says the album is “… a barrel bomb of heavy blues riffs, soulful grooves and cathartic lyricism, Who You Selling For seemingly lays Taylor’s soul bare.”

Alternative Nation said, “The band’s diverse resume of influences is heard as they expand their horizons and explore other sub-genres of rock, such as southern, blues, and funk. This versatility shows the extent of the band’s aptitude…This is The Pretty Reckless’s most daring, progressive album yet. And you’re gonna love it.”

Metal Wani raves, “Who You Selling For has it all. The Pretty Reckless have not been afraid to experiment on this album. From the foot stomping anthem “Prisoner” to the more fast paced numbers, and not forgetting the blues rooted sound of “Wild City”, it is clear that The Pretty Reckless are ready to shake things up and explore more of the wide landscape that is Rock’n’Roll.”
